God of our Lives???

It is a sad reality where we see the doctors whom we consider as the 2nd God to people, they have been witnessed as doing really unethical cum unaccepted practises in their medical profession which is a hindrance to the society.

When we talk about the unethical things in the medical procedures it usually includes benefitting at the cost of the patients, government doctors giving undue importance to their jobs, charging more than normal fees from the patients and lack of consumer courts for the patients.

Actually the whole screnario is built in such a way that patient and his family is tied in never opening knot by the hospitals where they cannot do much by themselves. They actually becomed forced in a situation by the hospitals and are pressurized indirectly to take the treatment from the same hospital and undergo tests which may not be required. The patient is fully duped by the clever doctors and the team of the hospital.

These are some of the medical ethics which are bound to followed in medical profesion but are rarely seen and this properly justifies our topic of concern

Taking some major examples that justify unethical practises in medical profession such as-
A women in Surat suffering  from stomach pain simply went to nearby Fortis hospital for regular checkup but they conducted unwanted sonography declaring emergency operation to curb a lot of money from the family.
Also it was a case of the Apollo hospital in Ludhiana where a old lady simply went for a normal appendix operation, but the result was that one kidney was taken out during operation and actual results came after a period of 3 years that actually devastated the image of the hospital.
Also there was a case of the Mumbai , where a patient has been dead since when he has been brought to the hospital but scary thing was that hospital doctors simply created a fake scenario of conducting expensive tests and operations and declared the already dead patient as dead to the family after 15 days to surcharge a lot of money from the affected family.
Many of the big hospitals in the country have ties with some big laboratories and run cumulative profit basis business in all aspects and these hospitals simply refer patients to these labs and tend to make fake reports from unwanted tests from which the patients have to suffer,
It was a case of Ahemdabad whereby the surgery was not done by professionally recognised local doctors whereby the hospital faked by calling a superior doctor from Delhi branch. But later it was found that the doctor called was a local doctor and it was eventually done to empty the pockets of the pateint's.
Going against the principles of truthfulness and autonomy India has a record of 10 crore cases every year whereby simply the general practitioners simply enlarge the date of prescription in order to charge extra money from patients and also suggesting them unwanted tests where patients have no choice.
Also it happened in Bihar where a patient was suffering from brain tumor where the doctors suggested  a injection which was around lakhs that could simply cut off the tumor and they gave their 100% guarantee but the end result was that the patient went into comma and nothing could be done as they have made some fake documents signed by the patient's family which properly supported the hospital which led to the hospital being profitable at the end.

This movie ''GABBAR IS BACK'' actually focused on the same context whereby unethical business practises have been shown by the doctors by making the medical procedures. This has been a great hit by actor Akshay Kumar. This story is a true example of criticism shown by public and gives some proper compensatory measures to curb this problem from the entire society as it the case of the life of the human beings and the professionallity of doctors.

Considering the whole scenario it is very interesting to know many authors have en-scripted books to make people aware of such practises prevailing in the Indian medical industry that has affected the lives of many people.
One such example is the rightly in the book published
-'Dissenting Diagnosis, Voices of conscience from the medical profession’.

It has been a great source of help to society to curb out the major causes behind the whole problem as this book witnessed the overall analysis of the whole country doctors and the practises being undertaken.
In a report doctors said that they are forced to practise such tasks as they won't get a full pay from the hospital which becomes a necessity for their livlihood.
It prescribed the rights of patients they need be aware so that nobody can dupe them in anyway.
Rationality of doctor was psychologically explained whereby the patient can actually understand how to react in a given situation or problem.
Also, certain compensatory measures have been given how to deal with this situation.
This book has been one of the bestsellers that completely describes the problem of the society.
Recommendations to solve the above problem are as follows-
The Medical Council of India needs to be reformed by introducing certain codes that bound the hospitals not to practise such evils and punish them for their unethical means
A uniformity in rules can be ensured in all the states by enabling them to follow the same Medical Establishment Act so that autonomy is there and same compensatory measures can be adopted.
Mass awareness campaigns should be conducted to make people are of their rights so that no chance of them being duped arises and such problem is curbed from the society.
Rationality of doctor should be understood who is performing for his well being or who is forced to perform such practise with this entire scenario would be understood and no problem would occur and solution could be easily found.
Seeking a second opinion is the patient’s right and should  be encouraged especially in cases which are complex where major procedures are being recommended. The patient or relatives should encourage dialogue between the first doctor and the doctor providing the second opinion, so that unnecessary repeat tests can be minimised.
Necessary raids should be conducted every quarter to punish those labs, clinics and hospitals which are into this unethical business and punish them accordingly for the sake of the society.
Opening of special consumer courts for medically affected patients should be encouraged by the central government at a large scale.
Hope all you had an informative idea about the entire issue being a evil in the society. I would also like to appraise some more suggestions on giving an affirmative solution to the problem.

WHAT'S IN YOUR FACE CREAM? IS IT REALLY CONTAINS VITAMINS? IS THIS ETHICAL?

Getting compliments for your make-up is something we ladies can't get over off at any age, but are you aware that the lipstick for which you are getting blushed for, and might be you are in rumor that it contains some argan oil or something which moisturises your lips, it contains PALM OIL, yes it does. Not just your favourite lipstick, even your foundation, blush, etc are made with MICA or some cheap ingredients like this. So there are 100% chances that your make-up bag is filled with these harmful and cheap stuff.
Have you ever heard the names like CRUELTY-FREE or VEGAN ?
Let me define you these with a brief description, a brand is said to be cruelty-free if it does not harm or kill animals for their testing of products or any sort of activities. Products tested on animals are not considered to be cruelty-free as these are painful and the reason of death of millions of animals every year. Vegan is considered to be something that does not contain any animal ingredient or animal-derived ingredient, honey, beeswax, gelatin, collagen, carmine, lanolin and similar are exceptional.
So it genuinely becomes important for us to know that the brands to which we are paying our thousands of bucks, really deserves it or not. Some of the famous brand like Maybelline, Lancome, Make Up For Ever, etc are unethical, not this even various luxe brands like MAC, Clinique, Chanel, Sephora brand also lies in the same category.

Mica is highly extracted from the mountains of India. In an article from 2014 of "The Guardian", titled "Child labor: mineral make-up boom raises fear over ethical extraction", revealed that 60% of global production of mica is from India and mostly exports are corrupted leading to a concerned spike in child labor. One more article of "The Guardian", from 2016 estimated that 20,000 children worked in mica mines situated in Jharkhand & Bihar.

Some of the brands labelled that they are cruelty-free but there's a hidden clause "An exception could be made if authorities required it for human safety or regulatory purposes."  For majority of the brands, their mainland is China and it's mandatory in the country that every foreign cosmetic brand has to test their products on animals , it is stated in the the law of China. It is really shocking that China govt. demand this, China is an increasingly market for many of the American and European cosmetic brands, there was sales of 26 billion in 2018-19 itself and the figures are increasing. Chinese law requires mandatory animal testing on the products which includes makeup, skin care, hair care, perfume, nail products, sunscreen, dyes, deodorant and whitening products. The animal testing only applies to the product which are physically sold in the country means it does not apply to online shopping.

In a global market it is important for all countries to ban animal testing for cosmetics to avoid testing simply moving around the world to countries with no effective laws. Animal tests are increasingly being replaced with quicker, cheaper and more reliable non-animal methods. These modern methods are more relevant to humans and have been found to predict human reactions better than the traditional outdated animal tests.Companies can prove their products are safe by using established ingredients. There are, for example, almost 20,000 ingredients in the European Union’s database for which safety data is available. Cosmetic manufacturers increasingly accept that animal experiments are unnecessary and those companies that still continue them damage the reputation of the industry. After New Zealand passed its ban in 2015, the Cosmetics, Toiletry and Fragrance Association said that they did not need animal tests, adding, "There might be some perception that we are actually testing within New Zealand so it's actually in the best interests of the exporting industry that we have a ban."

"Make In INDIA" or "Fake In INDIA"

We are dumb. We don't know any facts. Do We?
One telecom company is saying "We are the fastest", one cosmetic brand is saying "using this will reverse your aging", the story of these kinds of false claims doesn't stop here. Television is full of these kind of imprecise advertisements. While coming into this business field, the foremost thing we are being told is "PROFIT", but was that at the cost of someone's health, never. Now-a-days companies are doing these distasteful actions, and we have a whole list of that-

These are just some among the heap. We are seeing famous bollywood celebrities doing the ads of hair oil (basically mineral oil) and saying that’s the secret of their black, thick, long and shiny hair. We again see the same celeb doing the advertisement of some hair coloring stuff, what are they trying to do , how could they convince us , on one side they are saying that they have lustourous hair because they use that particular oil and now they are saying us to buy hair color, sorry celebs but I’m completely handicapped in finding out your logic behind this.
Beauty Care brand “Lotus Herbals” has it’s one product named YOUTHRx  which contains “Gineplex Youth Compound” , it can reverse your aging 10% in just 4 weeks, ad of this is done by bollywood celeb Shilpa Shetty Kundra. So, is this ethical to claim that a person is going to get back his/her youth skin back? Same happened with “Dabur Chyawanprash”, it’s ad claimed that it gave children 3x more immunity and power to fight diseases. It was slammed by ASCI for making claims that are unsubstantiated. Health drink brand named ‘Horlicks’ which claims to make children taller, stronger and sharper. A complaint was filed against the brand for one of it’s ads saying that it improves concentration and can help students to score better in exams. The complaint stated that the drink has nothing by which they can prove their statement. The company is basically using people’s apprehensions by targeting the exam season.

What Is Ethical Advertising?
The U.S. Federal Trade Commission defines ethical advertising as truthful, not deceptive, is backed by evidence, and fair. The FTC requires that advertisers follow those four requirements, so that they can state that they promote truth in advertising. The concept of a “reasonable consumer” is used when determining the perspective from which the FTC decides whether an advertisement fulfills these requirements or not..
Unethical advertising typically isn’t considered a crime and is more of a moral issue than a legal one. However, there are situations where the advertisement goes to the extreme. In this case, the advertisement willfully deceives the audience into buying the product being advertised. In such cases, the state or federal consumer protection departments could potentially prosecute the advertiser. Many states have a law that allows consumers to file complaints leveled against businesses that advertise their products using unethical advertisements. The U.S. Federal Trade Commission takes of consumer complaints at the federal level. Harsh penalties are assigned to advertisers who are found guilty of unethical advertising practices.
In a nutshell, don’t  toe the line and play on the edge. You might make the public very angry, which will affect your bottom line. On the other hand, you might be risking prosecution, and you might end up paying harsh penalties to the government. Instead, strive to promote the truth in your advertising. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with trying to emphasize the strengths of your service or product. However, whatever you do, do not lie. If you’re going to make a claim about your product or service, make sure you can back up your claim with irrefutable evidence. Also, you should not leave out any vital information that's relevant to why the consumer should consider about buying the product. Leaving out necessary information is committing a lie by omission
